CHERYL PRESENTS a Strong Strategy of Advocating Change through her own experience developing accessible and effective steps adaptable for the many differences that need RESPONSE instead of REACTION. Her first speaking about this was the way advocacy often begins, the simple grassroots of who she knew. Then she began to seek out those who could help her. Her 2015 Knowability speech and her 2017 Wells Fargo’s Diversity and Inclusion quarterly speech were pivotal as her story went nationwide.

Beyond Different, Own Your Voice to Create Change
Difference often begins at a variety of places, looks, abilities and needs. You are an individual. What happens when what others see is the basis for what they decide about you? What happens when that is the basis for what happens to you? To someone else? Do you feel you need to do something about that? And where do you begin?
This keynote speech tells the story of a frightening night when a drive home became the site of a physical threat that became a night of proof and person not being heard. From arrest to national law, here are the decisions and steps taken toward protecting being different in the hopes this does not happen again to anyone who does not look or act as a person who has power but not knowledge can effect.
